When moving out, you want to ensure the property is in the same condition as when you first moved in. Remember, your bond is a large sum of money, and not getting it all back can be distressing.
Believe it or not, getting your bond back is relatively easy, as long as you have taken good care of the property.
Here are our top 7 tips to ensure you get your bond back.
#1 Accidents happen all the time - just be upfront
Be transparent and honest about what is damaged in the Perth home. Also, be sure to state what you deem fair wear and tear. We recommend you create a separate list of all damaged or broken items and arrange for a professional to fix these items.
#2 Communicate with your Perth property manager
If there is an item that you are unsure how to fix – talk to your property manager in Perth right away. Being honest with your property manager will keep the relationship transparent, and the operations smooth. If you attempt to resolve the repairs yourself and are not up to standard, you may see yourself paying, even more, to have them fixed again.
#3 Remember your obligations as a tenant
As stipulated by the Tenancy Act, you are to provide the proper notice to vacate the property you are renting, and this even applies to the end of a fixed lease agreement. If you break the lease or fail to provide adequate notice to your property manager in Perth, you will incur costs.
#4 Hire the professionals

#7 Return all the keys, including ones you've had cut
When it is time to vacate, you will be expected to provide all of the keys you were initially given and any other items (such as garage remote controls and doorbell functionalities) by an agreed-upon time. Failure to do this may incur the cost of replacing those keys or items and often replacing the locks.
